Dorothy June Seipke, age 100 years, died peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in the loving care of Bayfield Assisted Living surrounded by her family. She was born June 2, 1919 to the late Mark and Flossie (Greer) Kehoe. She was one of nine children and grew up on a farm in Gladwin, Michigan. Dorothy was passionate about life and forever interested in others. Her tenacious spirit, positive attitude and great sense of humor were infectious.
She had many interests, loved to walk the mall, twirl the dance floor, listen to music and knew how to play the saxophone! She was a talented seamstress and sewed for all her children from to winter coats. She loved crocheting and making afghans. Together, they owned LS Wholesale Company and distributed Archway cookies, chips and candy to much of Northeast Michigan. The amazing duo loved life and inspired their children sharing the best things in life really are free, love and kindness. Dorothy's beautiful smile, kind heart and laughter lite up everyone's life right up until her final day. She will be forever missed.
Surviving Dorothy are her children: Don (Lana) Seipke, Mary Kathryn (Bill) Mackin, Ann (Mike) Brandow; nephew George Kehoe, five grandchildren: Donald and Jim Seipke, Janelle (Mark) Wolfman, Mark Smolinski, Adam (Katie) Brandow, Brett Mackin; ten great-grandchildren: Michael, Meagan, Daniel, Abigale, Charles, Brenden, Emily, Daniel, Kara, Luke; great-nieces and great-nephews: Candy (Tony) VanLuchene, Amy Posgate, Kim Hasty, Carrie (Dave) Simpson, Michelle Kehoe; and preceded in death by Ryan Kehoe.
