MINUTES

MAY 26, 2007

The 117th WBHS Alumni Association business meeting was called to order by President Ray Valley.

He expressed thanks to Lauretta Brindley Grezeszak and her crew for a lovely dinner. And, to those who set it up, a job well done.

Secretary Mary Anne Whitchurch Tuck took the roll call of classes from 1933 to 1969.

Ray called for the minutes of 2006 to be approved by the raise of hands. It was passed unanimously.

Mary Anne provided information about the WBHS Alumni Website. There were 6200 hits on it in the last 30 days.

Treasurer Josephine Bailey Neubecker gave the Treasurer's Report.

The treasurer’s report was received unanimously as printed in the program.

The report from the North Central Michigan Community Foundation’s West Branch High School Endowment Fund (Oriole’s Forever) was read by Vice President Richard Hamilton.  As of May 22, 2007, the fund totals $18,964.54.

The introduction of classes was done by various representatives of the celebrating classes. e.g. Betty Embury Mgrditchian Class of 1942-Jack Bray Class of 1947, Ben Monson Class of 1952, Althea Cascadden Phillips Class of 1957, Bill Steelman Class of 1962, Larry Martin Class of 1967.

Geraldine Basham Falkner sang a song “Tell Me Dear Are You Lonesome Tonight”.

The 8^th annual drawing to give away the donated $1000 was held.

Winning $100 each, were Moynell Gallaher Pfeiffer and Barb Norton Robinson.

Winning $300 was Gene Hutchins who donated it to the Scholarship Fund.

Winning $500 was Florine Copeland Antcliff.

Richard Hamilton took the chair calling for New Business.

Carolyn Abbs Rice made a motion that the West Branch High School Endowment Fund, a fund within North Central Michigan Community Foundation, serving the counties of Ogemaw, Crawford, and Oscoda,  be permitted to include a one page advertisement insert each continuing year (from now on) to be mailed out with the Alumni Banquet Invitation. The motion was seconded.

A discussion followed.

The question was called for and the motion carried.

There was no old business.

The meeting was adjourned by President Ray Valley.
